2025 Conference

IGNITING AGENCY AND CHOICE IN LEARNERS

Looking for new ways to engage students and practical research-based literacy techniques that are classroom friendly?  We have the conference for you!  Franki Sibberson and Lynsey Burkins, both nationally known speakers, authors of professional books, and practicing teachers will be our keynoters.  Together, they will share ideas about classroom design for more student engagement, and how to transform reading instruction through both large and small group activities.  Following the keynote some of the area’s most talented teachers will offer two rounds of shorter sessions where you can have further opportunities to learn and interact.

7:30 - 8:00     Registration and book browsing, coffee

8:00 - 9:15     Welcome.  Keynote: “Transforming Reading and Writing Instruction with Mini lessons” Sibberson & Burkins

9:25 - 10:05    Small group Session 1 with area teachers

10:15 - 11:00   Small group Session 2 with area teachers

11:10 - 12:00   Final Keynote: “Designing our Classrooms to Support Student Agency”   - Sibberson & Burkins
